Chompitakdacha Leads Golden Eagles on First Day; Darkness Suspends Second Round

KYLE, Texas -- Sophomore Friend Chompitakdacha picked up where she left off from the fall season, leading the Golden Eagles with a 3-over 75 in the first round (No. 18 overall) of the Texas State Invitational. Southern Miss currently sits at No. 14.
Since darkness halted the second round, the teams will finish their final holes in the morning before beginning the third and final one, with live scoring again available via Golfstat.com. Only 10 strokes separate the Golden Eagles from cracking the top-seven.
Chompitakdacha is chasing her fourth, top-25 finish in her young career. She carded a 1-under on the back nine.
Valeria Pichardo and Julie Baker each had a pair of birdies, while Maria Toledo Bailey had the second-best round (5-over 78) in her first collegiate action.
