Baker, Corbacho Lead Golden Eagles Through First 36 Holes

MACON, Ga.-- Julie Baker and Merche Corbacho each carded 10-over 154s to tie for No. 23 after the first two rounds of the Mercer Invitational.
Baker had a 76 and 78, while Corbacho's scores were flipped. They also produced four birdies apiece. It marked Baker's best score through 36 since October 2018, when she finished sixth with a 2-over 144 at the Magnolia Invitational in West Point.
Should their progress continue into Tuesday, it would mark the third time in head coach Lucy Burke's tenure that a pair of Golden Eagles finished in the top-25.
Both Valeria Pichardo and Tenley Moretti improved their scores by nine strokes apiece into the second round, with Pichardo's 76 matching the team-low for the afternoon. Both of those improvements are the highest on the team between rounds this season. Emily Cox remained consistent with a pair of 81s to hold the No. 42 spot.
Tuesday's final-round action begins at 7:30 a.m. CT.
