WKU Series
• This will be the fourth meeting between the two schools and marks the second-ever meeting between the schools as C-USA regular season foes (Click here for history of series). WKU has won all three games in the series, including a 28-10 decision in Hattiesburg last season in the first meeting in Hattiesburg.
• The Hilltoppers were the last team of the current C-USA configuration that the Golden Eagles played during the regular season, coming in their meeting last season.
• The two schools also met in the 2015 C-USA championship game, in which Southern Miss fell 45-28 in Bowling Green, Ky.
• WKU won the first meeting on Sept. 22, 2012, 42-17 in Bowling Green.
Notes from UNA Contest
• Frank Gore, Jr. registered a season-high, 45-yard rush which marked the longest rush by any Southern Miss player since DeMichael Harris collected a 56-yard carry at UTSA (11/16/19). He finished with 103 yards, marking his second 100-yard rushing performance this season. Both of the Golden Eagle wins this season have come when Gore has rushed for 100 yards or more.
• Kevin Perkins scored a career-high three touchdowns, marking the most rushing scores since Tate Whatley collected four at Liberty earlier this year.
• The Golden Eagles finished the game with a total of 245 rushing yards, marking the most rushing yards for Southern Miss since tallying 252 on Nov. 24, 2018 at UTEP.
• The 245 rushing yards mark the third time in their last four games that they have rushed for 200-plus yards.
• Southern Miss held an opponent to under 100 rushing yards (23) for the first time since giving up 97 at UTSA last season (11/16/19). It was also the fewest yards given up on the ground since allowing eight yards versus Rice a year ago(10/26/19).
• Southern Miss has now recorded at least one sack and one turnover in each of its seven games. The Golden Eagles finished the night with two sacks and an interception.
• The last time that Southern Miss held an opponent to less than 175 yards of total offense was Nov. 9, 2019 (vs. UAB). The Golden Eagles held the Blazers to 173 yards of total offense.
