HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Golden Eagle men's tennis team is set to host its only tournament action of the fall with the Southern Miss Fall Invitational from Friday through Sunday.
Per campus policy, fans must wear masks in transit and maintain social distancing for seating at the facility. Admission is free.
The Black and Gold will be joined by Chattanooga, No. 41 Middle Tennessee and South Alabama. Southern Miss will have its singles and doubles competitions Friday at 10 a.m. and the next two days at 2 p.m.
"We have waited a long time to get the chance to play again after the spring ended early," head coach Zubin Engineer said. "Our guys have worked very hard since we've returned, and it will be exciting to see how they build off last season."
The Golden Eagles were 8-5, including a shutout of Conference USA foe UAB, before the COVID-19 pandemic put an end to it.
The squad brings in one newcomer, freshman Michael Koscinski, and returns its top-five singles winners, including Christopher Cahour (9-3) and Matthieu Peres (8-2).
Each of Southern Miss' three opponents have played in two tournaments so far this season, including two in Murfreesboro with the host Blue Raiders.
