Southern Miss Announces 2020 Beach Volleyball Schedule

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss Beach Volleyball Coach Shawn Taylor has announced the team's schedule for the 2020 season.
The schedule includes nine home contests and 18 road matches.Â
In his first season at the helm of the program, Taylor takes over a Golden Eagles squad that finished its inaugural season with an 11-21 record a year ago. They were one of four NCAA Division I Beach Volleyball teams to record at least 11 wins in their inaugural season and finished five wins shy of Florida State's record-setting 16 wins.Â

"We are working hard to prep for the upcoming season. For us, it is about continuing to build a foundation and develop an identity for the program. Every player was a freshman in some regards last year as it was the first time through. We are now returning the bulk of our lineup and that experience is invaluable. With the construction for the indoor facility reaching the finish line and the upgrades to the beach venue slated to be completed early in the season, it's an exciting time. We're looking forward to getting after it on February 22nd. Come join us in the sand!"
Haley Hop, Kaile Tuisamatatele, and Hallie Phelan join a team that features nine returners from last year's roster.

- Baton Rouge, La. (March 13-14 vs. ULM, LSU, Spring Hill)
- Gulf Shores, Ala. (March 20-22 vs. TCU, Florida State, New Orleans, FAU, UAB)
- Columbia, S.C. (April 4-5 vs. UAB, Georgia State, LSU, South Carolina)
- White Sands Beach, La. (April 7 vs. Tulane x2)
1: Southern Miss will make one trip to Huntsville, Alabama for the CCSA Conference Championships, April 17-19.
22: The Golden Eagles welcome New Orleans to Hattiesburg on February 22nd to open their 2020 season.
