Warren, West Earn C-USA Weekly Awards

The two earned the accolades after their performances at the Crimson Tide Invite.
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss track and field athletes McKinely West and John Warren have earned themselves weekly accolades from Conference USA after their performances at the Crimson Tide Invitational over the weekend.
McKinely West, a senior from Camilla, Ga., earned the Male Track Athlete of the Week accolade after he placed fourth in the 200m with a time of 20.69. His time places second in C-USA and is ranked 22nd nationally. This time for West ranks fourth all-time at Southern Miss. In the 200m, West ran against student-athletes from Florida State, Memphis, Alabama, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Indiana State, Alabama A&T, as well as Hinds CC and Coahoma CC.
John Warren, a senior from Prince George, Va., placed first in the triple jump in Tuscaloosa, and earned himself the Male Field Athlete of the Week accolade from C-USA. Warren broke the meet record for the Crimson Tide Invitational with his jump of 52'10.75". This mark is first in C-USA and ranks seventh nationally. Warren jumped against student-athletes from Nebraska, Florida State, Alabama, Mississippi State, and Indiana State. This mark is now No. 5 all-time for Southern Miss.
