A new school record was set for the women's 4x400m relay.
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Southern Miss Track and Field squad made an impact at the Crimson Tide Invitational hosted by Alabama, breaking school, personal, and meet records at the Sam Bailey Track Stadium in Tuscaloosa.
The Breakdown
The women posted one new school record in the 4x400m relay, had four with season-best times, and two with personal-best finishes. The men posted two first-place finishes and a new meet record.
Women's Results
100m Dash – Keiyana Gaskin placed sixth at 11.86. Kadaria Thompson came in 11th with a time of 12.04. Shundoria Hardy finished at 19th with a time of 12.54.
200m Dash – Keiyana Gaskin came in 12th with a time of 24.35, her season best. Kadaria Thompson finished in 15th with a time of 24.91, her season best.
400m Dash – Rian Robinson placed third with a time of 54.13, a season best. Chenelle Ricketts had a time of 55.07, placing her in sixth with a season best time. Taylor Harris came in 12th at 56.56, a personal best. Aireanna Taylor rounded out the group in 16th at 58.19.
5000m Run – Savannah McMillon came in 10th at 17:52.46. Victoria Hoppe, Theresa Harto and Madeleine Bell placed 16th, 17th and 18th, respectively. Hoppe crossed the line at 18:31.25, Harto at 18:37.48, and Bell at 19:05.19.
100m Hurdles – Marquasha Myers finished in eighth with a time of 14.12, a personal best. Jasmine Griffin came in 11th at 14.64.
4x100m Relay – Southern Miss placed fourth at 46.48, with a team comprised of Jasmine Griffin, Kadaria Thompson, Chenelle Ricketts and Keiyana Gaskin.
4x400m Relay – A new Southern Miss record was set by the relay team of Rian Robinson, Chenelle Ricketts, Aireanna Taylor, and Taylor Harris. The squad finished in second at 3:41.70. The previous record was set in 1999.
High Jump – Zaria Jones tied for sixth with a height of 5'5" (1.65m).
Triple Jump – Marquasha Myers placed seventh with a jump of 39'4" (11.99m).
Hammer Throw – McKenna Mumaw came in 11th with a throw of 148'9" (45.33m).
Javelin Throw – Callie Jones had a throw of 165'5" (50.41m).
Men's Results
100m Dash – Chedlin Sagesse finished in 12th at 10.66. Elijah Burton finished in 18th with a time of 10.97.
200m Dash – McKinely West placed fourth at 20.69. Trey Johnson came in 17th with a time of 21.60. Elijah Burton came in 25th with a time of 22.52.
400m Dash – Trey Johnson finished in third with a time of 46.37. Lorenzen Burton came in 21st at 50.52.
110m Hurdles – Caleb Parker came in third with a time of 13.93. Christian Strong came in eighth with a time of 14.75. Tamrin Hobbs placed 14th at 14.75. Keionis Spears came in 16th with a time of 16.25.
400m Hurdles – Mamadou Seck came in 10th at 57.84.
High Jump – Eric Richards finished in second place at 7'00.25 (2.14m).
Long Jump – Eric Washington placed first with a mark of 24'0.75" (7.33m). Chedlin Sagesse placed second at 22'11.75" (7.00m). Devonta Brassell had a 10th-place finish at 20'9.75" (6.34m).
Triple Jump – John Warren had a meet record, jumping to a distance of 52'10.75" (16.12m). Devonta Brassell came in eighth with a jump of (14.43m).
