Men’s Golf Posts a 12th Place Showing after Opening Day at Little Rock Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss men's golf team collected rounds of 297 and 303 over the first two rounds of the Little Rock Invitational, Monday, to hold down 12th place.
The event, taking place at the par-72, 7,326-yard Chenal Country Club in Little Rock, Ark., finishes Tuesday with the final 18 holes. An 8:15 a.m., shotgun starts finishes the final round of play.
Southern Miss was led by junior Brice Wilkinson (Madison, Miss.), who carded rounds of 69 and 77 for a 146 finish for the day and a 20th-place tie. Freshman Thongpipat Rattanayanon (Bangkok, Thailand) added a 73 and a 75 for a 148 for a 33th-place tie, while junior Brian Richards (Gulf Breeze, Fla.) notched rounds of 78 and 73 for a 151 total and a 52nd-place tie.
Freshman Robbie Latter (Mississauga, Ontario) posted rounds of 77 and 78 for a 155 for a 69th-place tie and senior Walker Kesterson (Hartsburg, Mo.) put together an 83 and a 78 for a 161 and an 85th place.
Eastern Michigan leads the team scoring with a one-over 577, ahead of Oral Roberts (578) and host Little Rock by a stroke. Both Campbell and Middle Tennessee are tied for fourth at 579, followed by Illinois State (580), Texas State (581), Lamar (586), Stephen F. Austin (596), Central Arkansas (598), Southern Illinois (599), Southern Miss, Missouri State (605), UT Arlington (612) and Bradley (624).
