Men's Tennis Defeats Braves, 7-0

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Another match, another 7-0 victory for the Southern Miss men's tennis team, this time coming over the visiting Alcorn State Braves on Monday afternoon.
"It was good for the team to get back-to-back matches," head coach Zubin Engineer said. "The overall energy and intensity could be better. The goal is to play freely by making good decisions."
Tom Cecchetto and Chung-Han Tsai were the only repeat doubles partners from Saturday's season opener and came out with a 6-4 victory after a 6-1 Golden Eagle victory on No. 3.
Teeradon Tortrakul had a day off while Mieszko Kwasniewski took his place. He made quick work of his No. 6 singles foe, coming out unscathed in a sweep. Jorman Reyes and Ronit Bisht each faced sturdy competition in their bouts before coming out on top.
"I think we played very well as a team. It's the start of a season, and everyone's getting used to playing right now. We kind of struggled a little bit, but I think we will rise up against good teams."
Southern Miss now looks ahead to its first Conference USA match on Sunday, when it plays at UAB at 11:30 a.m. CT.
