Baseball Gets Ready for 2019 Season with Several Public Events

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss baseball program will participate in several preseason fan events prior to its season opener Friday, Feb. 15, against Purdue at Pete Taylor Park.
These events include:
* On Wednesday, Jan. 30, there will be the Baseball Season Kickoff event at Brewsky's (3818 W 4th St.). The event runs from 6-7:30 p.m., with hot dogs being provided as well as a cash bar. Fans will be able to meet the 2019 Golden Eagle players and coaches.
* Former Southern Miss baseball coach Corky Palmer, along with members of the 2009 College World Series squad, will serve as guest speakers for this year's 1st Pitch Banquet set for Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Thad Cochran Center. Registration begins at 5 p.m., with the event starting at 6 p.m. Tickets for the banquet are $25 per person and seating is limited to the first 400 people. To reserve your seat, call Collin Cargill at 601.266.6542 or email him at jared.cargill@usm.edu.
* The preseason Baseball Hot Stove All-Access event will also be held at Mugshots (204 N. 40th Ave.), Thursday, Feb. 7 from 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. members of the coaching staff will be there to meet and greet with fans and answer questions.
* On Saturday, Feb. 9, the squad will play host to its annual Baseball Fan Day at Pete Taylor Park. There will be a free youth clinic from 10-11 a.m. Following the clinic, an autograph session will be held in the concourse followed by an intrasquad scrimmage set for 12:30 p.m.
Tickets for the 2019 home baseball season can be purchased by going online at SouthernMissTickets.com, by calling the ticket office at 1-800-844-TICK (8425) or by visiting the Pat Ferlise Center weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
