Southern Miss concludes opening round of Golfweek Conference Challenge

VAIL, Colo. -- Julie Baker sits in a tie for 20th after Southern Miss' opening round of action at the Golfweek Conference Challenge.
Baker finished with a 1-over 73 that was helped by a 2-under on the final nine holes. The Golden Eagles sit in the No. 18 spot of the tourney, but will look to replicate their success from last weekend's USA Intercollegiate, which featured a 17-stroke improvement on the second day.
Baker and Cassidy Evreniadis each tallied two birdies.
Southern Miss' 317 puts them just behind Central Arkansas (316), Delaware (312) and UC Riverside (308) to get back in the middle of the pack.
