Southern Miss Finishes Season in Texarkana

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Senior Matt Codd led the Golden Eagles in the team's final outing of the 2017-2018 season, tying for 11th overall at the 2018 Conference USA Men's Golf Championship in Texarkana, Ark. The team shot an 18-over (306) today to bring its total to 38-over (902) for the tournament, posting a 10th place finish.
Codd fired a two-over (74) today, making for a tournament total of three-over (219). The senior collected two birdies in his final collegiate round, gathering a team-high 11 total for the 54-holes. This is the third top 15 finish for the Red Deer, Alberta product this season and the second time he has finished in the top 15 in the last three consecutive tournaments.
Brian Richards finished tied for 36th, marking his second best final leaderboard positioning of the season, and his 10-over (82) score for the day gave him an 11-over (227) for the entire tournament. The freshman finished the tournament with 33 pars over the three days of play on the 6,969 yard Texarkana Country Club course, the most of any Golden Eagle in the field.
Derick Kelting posted the team's best round of the day, a one-over (73), recording a total of 12-over (228) for the entirety of the tournament and positioning himself in a four way tie for 40th.
Willie Hammond and Nathan Corchis made up the rest of the Southern Miss scorecard tied for 51st and 55th, respectively. Hammond registered an eight-over (80) today, giving him a 16-over 232 final and Corchis shot a seven-over 79, accumulating a 17-over (233) total.
