
Men's Tennis Win Big on Senior Day

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss Men's Tennis team won its 18th match of the season after a 6-1 win on Senior Day against Nicholls State.
Four seniors were recognized prior to Tuesday's match. Senior manager Grigory Trotsenko who competed in the 2014-15 season was honored for his contributions and work during his time with the Golden Eagles. Mikhail Esipov, Daniel Merker and Wen-Po Tseng were also recognized for their four years of competition at Southern Miss.
After an on-court recognition, courts 2 and 3 secured the doubles point for Southern Miss. Senior Tseng and Chung Han Tsai won their 13th doubles match of the season. Mieszko Kwasniewski and Tom Cecchetto also won in doubles at No. 3 now posting double digit wins in doubles play.
Tseng continued his undefeated season in singles play and improved to 15-0 on the season with a 6-0, 6-4 win. Fellow senior Esipov also won his match at No. 6 with a 6-2, 6-0 finish. Esipov has now won nine singles matches this season.
Ronit Bisht won at No. 1 for his 11th win of the season and sixth-straight match. Teeradon Totrakul picked up his fifth win of the season and Tsai improved to 11-2 after his win at No. 3.
The Golden Eagles travel to UAB March 14 for their last regular season match of the season before the Conference tournament.
