Caleb Parker Claims Male Field Athlete of the Week

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss men's field athlete, Caleb Parker, received a weekly award announced from Conference USA offices on Tuesday afternoon following his 2018 outdoor season debut.
The sophomore finished first for Southern Miss in the men's high jump with a mark of 2.16m (7'1") in a field of men from Troy, South Alabama, William Carey, Albany State and Birmingham- Southern. The next closest competitor jumped a 2.06m, Titus Sizemore from Troy.
Parker's mark is a new personal best and put him first in C-USA while also placing him second in the nation. The mark was also ranked third in the weekly USTFCCCA Top 10 performance list.
This honor is the first weekly award of the Houston native's career.
