Bowling Green, Ky. -- The Southern Miss women's basketball team (8-6, 0-1) travels to WKU (10-4, 1-0) for a Jan. 6 matchup. The contest, a rematch of the 2015 and 2017 C-USA Championship Game, will tipoff at 2 p.m.
The Lady Toppers are coming off of a 57-43 win over Middle Tennessee to open its C-USA schedule and secure its ninth win in the past 10 games.
The Lady Eagles last contest, a 66-56 loss at Charlotte, saw Megan Brown notch a new career high after she scored 20 points on a career-high 53 percent shooting. She is the fifth Lady Eagle to have a 20 point game this season and it was the sixth time she has paced the team in scoring.
This is the seventh all-time meeting between the Lady Eagles and Lady Toppers and just the third that has come in E.A. Diddle Arena.
The contest will feature the conference's two leading double-double getters. Ivy Brown has gathered seven total on the season and Jayla King notched her sixth yesterday against Charlotte.
Southern Miss' main object will be to slow down Tashia Brown and stay out of foul trouble. Tashia Brown averages 23.6 points per game, the land's fourth highest scorer, and the Lady Toppers have attempted the 11 most free throws in the country while making the ninth most free throws in the NCAA.
Fans can watch the game on CUSA.TV or listen to Josh West on the broadcast via The Score 1400 AM and the Southern Miss Game Day App starting 30 minutes before tipoff.
