
Two Golden Eagles Card Career Lows in Louisiana

HATTIESBURG, Miss. â€" Sophomores Walker Kesterson and Matt Lorenz both shot career low rounds during the first day of the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate in Choudrant, La.
Kesterson carded a four-under-par 68 in the second round and Lorenz fired a three-under-par 69 in the first round. Kesterson also holed an Eagle on the second hole of the first round.
Together, the pair has a total of 19 under-par holes and sits tied for 7th overall at three-under-par 141.
Freshman Brian Richards, competing as an individual, tied his collegiate round record by shooting an even-par 72 in both rounds. His gathering off 144 ties him for 17th overall.
Senior Matt Codd tallied six total birdies on the day and is five-over-par at 149. He'll begin the final round tied for 40th.
Redshirt junior Nathan Corchis sits one stroke behind Codd at six-over-par and is in a 10 way tie for 45th.
Junior Derick Kelting rounds out the Southern Miss competitors after completing a 77-76 six-over-par and is tied for 62nd.
