HATTIESBURG, Miss – Southern Miss Women's Golf Coach Erika Brennan announced the addition of Kelly Erasmus as a student assistant coach for the Golden Eagles.
"I'm elated to have Kelly join us this season as a student coach. Kel brings a unique perspective to the coaching staff and was a model student-athlete during her time competing at Southern Miss. Not only did she excel on the course for us, she was also a stand-out in the classroom and amongst her peers. She will immediately elevate the program with her contributions and I can't wait to get started working alongside her."
Erasmus' playing eligibility ended this past spring and she will coach as she finishes her degree.
"I feel very privileged to get this opportunity to continue to be a part of this incredible Golden Eagle team and to be a mentor to all the players," Erasmus said. "I hope to bring a positive contribution to the team and I can't wait to see the success they achieve."
The Cape Town, South Africa native hit the links for the Golden Eagles for the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons. She was a part of every tournament starting five her whole career and owns the best career finishing percentage in program history and the second best single season Par 3 and Par 4 scoring averages. Erasmus had a career stroke average of 75.46 and collected one top five finish, runner-up at the 2016 Golden Eagle Jam, and 10 top 10 finishes during her career.
