Southern Miss Assistant Coach Wins Mississippi PGA Trustmark Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss – Southern Miss Assistant Golf Coach Eddie Brescher won the Mississippi PGA Trustmark Invitational, the third time in the past five years, with a nine-under 207 (66-72-69) on Sunday afternoon.
Brescher's first round score of 66 was the lowest round of the tournament and he shot a total of 16 birdies, the most collected over the three days of competition. His streak of 23 holes without a bogey was the most of any golfer.
Held at the Reunion Golf and Country Club in Madison, Miss., the Trustmark Invitational has taken place every year since 1974. Brescher's three wins are the third most by an individual in the tournament's history.
