
Men's Tennis Snap William Carey's Win Streak

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss men's tennis team snapped William Carey's five-match win streak with a 6-1 win, Wednesday, at the Southern Miss Tennis Facility.
The Golden Eagles got off to a quick start winning the doubles points at No.1 and No. 3. Daniel Merker and Jorman Reyes are now 12-2 at No. 1 and have won six of their last seven doubles matches.
Senior, Chao-Yu Huang won his match in 30 minutes with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3 against Hugo Robuchon. Huang is now 14-1 this season. The Crusaders stole a point from the Golden Eagles with a 6-3, 6-4 win on court 6 against Rakshit Rishi.
Teeradon Tortrakul pulled the Golden Eagles within one point of clinching the match after 6-3, 6-2 win and improves to 11-4, the third most singles wins for the Golden Eagles.
Wen-Po Tseng clinched the match after both sets go to a tiebreaker. A 7-6, 7-6 decision seals the deal for the Golden Eagles and Tseng earns his sixth win at No. 1.
Merker and Reyes finish the day with wins on courts two and five. The Golden Eagles improve to 14-4 overall and 9-3 at home after Wednesday's win.
Southern Miss heads to Lafayette, La., for a match against UL-Lafayette and Prairie View A&M on Saturday. The Ragin' Cajuns are 11-9 overall and are on a five-match losing streak.
