Southern Miss Will Face Little Rock in WNIT

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss Women's Basketball team accepted an at-large bid to the 2017 Women's National Invitational Tournament, the sixth in program history, Monday evening.
Lady Eagles will host Little Rock on Wednesday, March 15. The game time will be announced tomorrow. The winner of the game will face the winner of Alabama and Mercer.
All Southern Miss and William Carey students, with a valid student ID, will get in free of charge. Ticket prices will be $10 for adults and $5 for 17 and under. Tickets can be purchased online at SouthernMissTickets.com, or by calling the Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800-844-TICK (8425) as well as visiting the Pat Ferlise Ticket Center.
Southern Miss last faced the Trojans during the 2013-2014 season.
This is the Lady Eagles' 14th all-time postseason appearance. Coach Joye Lee-McNelis makes her eighth WNIT appearance and her 12 postseason appearance of her career.
Southern Miss owns a 7-6 all-time record in the WNIT. The Lady Eagles' last WNIT run was during the 2014-15 season. Southern Miss defeated Texas Southern 79-69 in the first round, conquered TCU 77-72 in overtime, handed Eastern Michigan a 76-65 loss and then fell 69-60 to Michigan in the Elite Eight, all in Reed Green Coliseum.
Starting 30 minutes before tip, Lady Eagle fans can also hear Josh West on the radio broadcast for the game on WFOR 1400 AM.
