HATTIESBURG, Miss. â€" The Southern Miss Men's Tennis team dropped its first spring match of the season 6-1 to South Alabama Saturday afternoon.
Despite early leads in both No. 1 and 2 in doubles, the Golden Eagles couldn't hold the lead in either match. With Daniel Merker and Jorman Reyes's loss at No. 1, Rakshit Rishi and Mikhail Esipov forced a deciding third match between the No. 2 doubles team after a 7-5 win.

Jorman Reyes would steal the Golden Eagle's only point by defeating Gingras in sraights sets, 6-3, 6-3. Huang and Tseng came close again in singles action but couldn't take another one from the Jags. Tseng came close in a 6-0, 6-7(5), 11-9 loss. The Jags improve to 3-2.
