MIAMI, Fla. â€" The Southern Miss Women's basketball team (17-9, 9-5), after a 75-37 win at FAU, continues their escapades in Florida Saturday night at FAU (4-20, 0-13) at 4 p.m. CT.
The four Florida natives, Brittanny Dinkins, Jayla King, Keri Jewett-Giles and Respect Leaphart, were more than comfortable playing in the Sunshine State. The group accounted for 34 points, 21 rebounds and 14 assists.
"We're looking for great energy, especially at FAU, from the kids from Florida," said interim head coach Kiley Hill. "We've been talking to them about playing within their game and having an extra edge of support. FAU runs a ton of motion pieces and they try to isolate you on certain spots on the floor. FAU's record might not indicate it, but they're dangerous. The keys to the game will be if we'll be able to contain their guards, the deep three and other pieces that can really hurt you if they get to certain spaces."
Lady Eagle fans can hear Josh West on the radio broadcast for the game on WFOR 1400 AM at 3:30 p.m. CT.
