Offensive Notes
• Jaylon Adam's 52-yard touchdown reception from Keon Howard in the 1st quarter was the first of his career. It was the longest touchdown pass since Marquise Ricard's 55-yarder (from Howard in his collegiate debut) against Old Dominion in 2016 and the longest completion of the 2017 campaign.

• Tez Parks' 26-yard rush in the first quarter was his longest rush since Sept. 6, 2014 against Alcorn State, coached by Jay Hopson.
• Ito Smith rushed for two touchdowns against the Miners. He has notched rushing TDs in five straight games and this is his second multi-rushing TD game of the season.
• Smith passed the century mark (finished with 120 yards on 28 carries) with less than nine minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. This is the 20th game that he has eclipsed 100 yards and the fourth in a row.
Defensive Notes
• LaDarius Harris' second-quarter forced fumble was the first of his career. It led to Kelsey Douglas' first career fumble recovery.
• Cornell Armstrong's third-quarter takeaway was the second of the season and the fifth of his career.
• The Golden Eagle's shutout tonight marks the first against the Miners in series history.
• This is the first time since 1999 that Southern Miss has logged multi shutout games. The Golden Eagles shut out Army and Louisiana that season.
• This is the first conference game shutout since the Southern Miss beat UAB 3-0 in 2001.
• The Golden Eagles held UTEP to only six first downs, the fewest since allowing only three against Savannah State in last season's home opener.
• UTEP was stifled to 17 total rushing yards, the fewest since holding LA Tech to 8 total rushing yards in last year's season finale.
Special Team Notes
• Justin Abston's fumble recovery on a punt in the second quarter was the first of his career.
• Parker Shaunfield's 38- yard fourth quarter field goal with 3:08 remaining was Southern Miss' longest FG of the season.
