HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss Lady Eagle basketball team (11-6, 3-2) travels to Denton to face the North Texas Mean Green (5-11, 2-3) on Thursday at 7 p.m. CT. Pregame will start at 6:45 on the beIN networks.
Southern Miss owns a 3-1 all-time record against the Mean Green and looks to stay perfect while playing games in the state of Texas this season.
"North Texas is very athletic and explosive," said head coach Joye Lee-McNelis. "They have a big post player inside and they're going to try and bury us there, just like Charlotte did. What makes them good is their balanced inside and outside attack and their perimeter players can really shoot the ball. Their record doesn't reflect it, but they're very similar to Charlotte. The Lady Eagles need to bring their best game on the road and we've got to compete every possession."
North Texas is lead is scoring by Terriell Bradley and her 12.8 points per game. Terra Ellison leads the team on the boards with her 5.8 per game.
The teams split the series last year and the home team walked away with a win.
