Men's Golf Plays in Memphis Intercollegiate

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss men's golf team looks to continue its solid start to the fall campaign when they travel north for the Memphis Intercollegiate, being played Monday and Tuesday at the Colonial Country Club.
Over the team's first two tournaments, the Golden Eagles have enjoyed a pair of top 4 finishes. Southern Miss opened the year with a 2nd-place showing in the Sam Hall Intercollegiate and then followed that with a 4th-place at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate last week.
Sophomore Nathan Corchis (Water Sound, Fla.) leads the way for the Golden Eagles having posting a pair of top 10 finishes in the first two tournaments, while freshman Walker Kesterson (Hartsburg, Mo.) has one top 5 finish thus far.
Corchis also sports the lowest per round average of 71.33, while Kesterson holds a 71.67 along with senior Ryan Argotsinger (Lee's Summit, Mo.) and junior Matt Codd (Red Deer, Alberta) who are each at 73.17 strokes per round.
The tournament takes place on the par 72, 7,300-yard course with play beginning with an 8 a.m., shotgun start Monday for 36 holes of continuous play, followed by the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
Along with Southern Miss and host Memphis, the other teams in the field include Arkansas State, Belmont, Central Arkansas, IUPUI, Little Rock, Lipscomb, Marshall, Oral Roberts, Samford, Western Carolina, and WKU.
