Men's Golf Opens Season at Sam Hall Intercollegiate

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss men's golf squad opens its 2016-17 season when they play host to the Sam Hall Intercollegiate at the Hattiesburg Country Club Monday and Tuesday.
The 54-hole event consists of 36 holes of continuous play on Monday beginning at 8:30 a.m., with a shotgun start and then an 18 additional holes with tee times beginning at 8 a.m., Tuesday.
The Hattiesburg Country Club is a par 71 course and will play at 6,902 yards for the event. To access live stats to the event, click here.
This year's field, along with the Golden Eagles, includes Mississippi State, Georgetown, UTSA, Texas State, Samford, Rice, Sam Houston, Southeastern Louisiana, ULM, UALR, Arkansas State, Central Arkansas, Western Kentucky, and Louisiana-Lafayette.
Senior Ryan Argotsinger (Kansas City, Mo.) returns with the lowest per round average from a season ago at 75.52 while sophomore Willie Hammond (Southlake, Texas) is next at 75.90.
This will be the eighth consecutive season the Golden Eagles open their season with this tournament.
