Ryan Argotsinger Named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss senior men's golfer Ryan Argotsinger (Kansas City, Mo.) earned Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar honors by the Golf Coaches Association of America for Division I.
Argotsinger was one of three golfers to participate in all 11 tournaments and 31 rounds for the Golden Eagles this past season, averaging 75.52 strokes per round on the year.
He shot his lowest career round (67) at the Sam Hall Intercollegiate (9/14-15), while recording two top-20 finishes. Argotsinger tied for 15th at the Memphis Intercollegiate (9/21-22) and tied for 13th at the Sam Hall Intercollegiate. He led the team with eight par rounds on the season. During his career, he has had one top-five finish, four top-ten finishes and nine top-20 finishes.
This is the eighth time a Golden Eagle has won this award and Ryan is the fifth different Southern Miss men's golfer to receive the honor. Drew Kirby collected the award in both 2014 and 2015. Matt Wofford collected this nod in 2004, while Paul Apyan was acknowledged in both 2009 and 2010, Nick Brown in 2011 and 2012.
In order to be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status, an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50 percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
