
Men's Tennis Team Blanks Alabama State 4-0

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss men's tennis team blanked Alabama State 4-0 on Saturday at the USM Tennis Courts, improving to 15-8.
The Golden Eagles opened the match earning the doubles point with winning at No. 2 and No. 1 as Chao-Yu Huang and Wen-Po Tseng defeated Adam Coyne and Takura Mlambo 6-1 and followed with Daniel Merker and Tarun Surat defeating Patrik Cvik and Szabin Pusztay.
Southern Miss carried the momentum into singles. Surat took the first set of his match 6-0 and was leading 2-0 when Mlambo retired. Rakshit Rishi added a point with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 5 against Jarred Thompson before Makhail Esipov then clinched the match added a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 6 against Jose Ogea.
Southern Miss is back on the court April 13 against New Orleans at 2 p.m.
