Here is a listing of the promotions for the weekend:
Military and First Responders Appreciation Weekend
•This event will take place as part of this weekend's C-USA Series against Middle Tennessee as it was rescheduled due to inclement weather during the series against Samford earlier in the season.
• Saturday will serve as the primary day of this annual celebration with a pregame on-field ceremony recognizing all members of the Military and First Responders. These individuals are asked to meet on Saturday by the First Baseline Gate by 1:30 p.m. to line up for this presentation as we thank them for their service to our country and our community. As part of this presentation, the Southern Miss Baseball team will wear their camo jerseys in support of Military and First Responders Appreciation Weekend.
• The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Honor Guard will be on hand for this presentation and will have the flags from all branches of the Military. The USM Army ROTC Color Guard will also be on hand to present the colors for the National Anthem.
•All members of the Military and First Responders in attendance will then take part in a special presentation on the field as we recognize them for their service.
• Prior to the presentation, SPC Quashena Lee who is stationed at Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center in Hattiesburg, and the Mississippi National Guard Soldier of the Year, will get things started with a ceremonial first pitch.
•Throughout the weekend, anyone with a Military or First Responders ID may purchase General Admission Tickets for $4 each.
•Fans may also purchase tickets that will be donated to members of the Military and local First Responders. These tickets may be purchased for $5 each and Southern Miss Athletics will match each ticket donation made by our fans.
