Women's Basketball's Jenkins Earns Three Conference USA Awards

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Southern Miss freshman Caitlin Jenkins earned three postseason awards in Conference USA. Voting was comprised of two votes per institution; the women's basketball head coach and one media representative per school.
Jenkins was named to the second team All-Conference USA team, the All-Freshman Team and the All-Defensive Team. Jenkins leads the Lady Eagles in scoring and rebounding with 12.2 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. She is the one of only two players in the league averaging a double-double and is the top rebounding freshman in the nation.
The Shreveport, La., native scored a season-high 29 points against Louisiana Tech and had a season-best 18 rebounds against Ole Miss. She has 14 double-doubles on the season including 10 against C-USA teams. Jenkins ranks second in the league in rebounding while leading the league in blocked shots.
