HATTIESBURG, Miss -- The Southern Miss men's and women's outdoor track and field teams travel to Tallahassee, Fla. for the 37th Annual Florida State Relays this weekend.
The two day meet will get started with events Friday, March 25 at 9 a.m. with the men's hammer throw at Mike Long Track.
"We are very excited about getting to compete some of the best SEC and ACC teams this weekend. This is a big test for us," said head coach Jon Stuart. "We get to compete in some events that are going to help us qualify for the region meet. This meet gives us an opportunity to put our best efforts forward in this two day meet, which will be similar to how the C-USA Outdoor Championships schedule will be."
The Golden Eagles are competing in their first quadrangular meet of the season when they take on Alabama, Mississippi State, and Florida State.
"Getting to go to a scored meet between Alabama, Mississippi State and Florida State, we get to see where we stack up against some of the better teams in the country," added Stuart. "These types of meets bring out the best in us and help us get some good marks."
Along with live results from http://www.pttiming.com/, the meet will be streamed live on ESPN3.
"It should be a good test for our fitness and competitiveness. We are excited to get going. "
