Lady Eagle Basketball Set to Face WKU

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- With the 2015-16 season winding down, the Southern Miss women's basketball team is set to face WKU on Thursday, Mar. 3 at 6 p.m. in one of its final regular season home games.
The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a Southern Miss Basketball T-shirt. There is a two ticket specials for this game - $2 Tickets for Eagle Club Members and $1 Youth Tickets. Additionally, the first 100 students in attendance will receive a Free Hamburger for this game.
Southern Miss Preview
The Lady Eagles (14-13, 7-9) are coming off a 57-55 loss at North Texas last Saturday. Caitlin Jenkins came off the bench the lead the team in scoring and rebounding with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Shayla Wilson added 10 points and five rebounds. Brittanny Dinkins had four steals.
Jenkins leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 12.2 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. Dinkins is next as she adds 10.5 points. King adds 7.6 points and 5.1 rebounds. Dinkins and Keri Jewett-Giles are handing out 3.5 and 3.3 assists per game, respectively.
Southern Miss is averaging 59.9 points and 36.9 rebounds per game while shooting 40.0 percent from the field and 65.3 percent from the line. The Lady Eagles are giving up 58.7 points on 39.2 percent shooting.
A Look at WKU
WKU (22-5, 13-3) is coming off a 64-55 win against UAB. Tashia Brown scored a team-best 12 points while Kendall Noble added a double-double with 11 points and 11 assist. Ivy Brown chipped in 11 points. The Hilltoppers scored 15 points off turnovers against the Blazers.
Head Coach Michelle Clark-Heard is in her fourth season at WKU and returns just five letterwinners from last year's team that finished with a 30-5 record.
Tashia Brown leads the team in scoring at 17.7 points per game with Noble right behind at 17.3 points. Ivy Brown adds 11.9 points and a team-best 9.1 rebounds per contest. Noble has dished 145 assists for a 5.3 per game average.
The Hilltoppers are averaging 71.7 points and 38.6 rebounds per game while shooting 42.9 percent from the field and 68.5 percent from the line.
Series Record
This is the fourth meeting between the two teams with Southern Miss leading the series 2-1. Southern Miss won the initial meeting in Hattiesburg in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 1994. The teams split games last season with WKU winning in the championship game of the C-USA Tournament.
