Golden Eagles Find Success At The Big Easy Classic

New Orleans, La. – Mikhail Esipov flies for the Southern Miss Men's Tennis team as he advances to the finals of the Big Easy Classic on Saturday.
Esipov's bye in the first round on Friday morning set him up against Tushar Mandlekar of Xavier University of Louisiana. Esipov easily defeated Mandlekar 6-2, 6-2. Esipov will face Federeico Staksrud in the finals Saturday morning set for 11 a.m.
Chao-Yu Huang also received a bye in the first round for the Golden Eagles and advanced to the semi-finals after his three-set victory against Takura Mlambo. Despite losing the first set 5-7, Huang battled back and won the final two 6-4 and 10-0. Huang faces Karan Salwan of Xavier tomorrow in the semis.
Esipov and Huang look to continue their success in their fall season for the Golden Eagles on the final day of the Big Easy Classic.
