Two Golden Eagles Doubles Teams Make Quarterfinals

AUBURN, Ala. – Both Southern Miss men's tennis doubles teams made it to the quarterfinals of the ITA Southern Regionals on Saturday.
Jorman Reyes and Daniel Merker started day two of the tournament with a 8-4 win against Tuki Jacobs and Juan Soria of South Alabama. The duo would advance to quarterfinals to face an Ole Miss pair but fall 8-4.
Wen-Po Tseng and Chao-Yu Huang would also make to their way to the quarterfinals after a 8-4 win against Paolo Cucalon and Pablo Caffarena of Jackson State. Tseng and Huang loss a close match to Ole Miss 8-7.
Reyes was also successful Saturday in singles action. Reyes faced Zuonimir Babic of Ole Miss and won due to an injury from Babic who was unable to finish the match. Reyes defeated Gabriel Niculscu of Troy in the third round with a 6-4, 6-2 win. Reyes faces South Alabama's Juan Cruzsoria in the fourth round at 8 a.m. on Sunday.
