Women's Golf Opens 2015 Fall Schedule Sunday

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's golf team opens its 2015 fall season Sunday when they travel to Glencoe, Ala., for the Chris Banister Golf Classic hosted by Jacksonville State.
The Golden Eagles will play 18 holes each day from Sunday through Tuesday in the 54-hole event being played at the Silver Lakes Golf Club.
The 12-team tournament will feature host Jacksonville State, Alabama State, Lipscomb, Morehead State, Murray State, Samford, South Alabama, Tennessee State, Troy, West Alabama and UAB, along with the Golden Eagles.
Junior Devon Spriddle (Lethbridge, Alberta) returns with the lowest scoring average after tallying a 75.55 in nine tournaments a year ago. The Golden Eagles will also have freshmen Miranda Holt (Pensacola, Fla.) and Valentina Haupt (Weston, Fla.), along with juniors Emily Ross (Diamondhead, Miss.) and Kelly Erasmus (Captetown, South Africa). Sophomore Belen Abrile (Cordoba, Argentina) will be playing as an individual.
The opening day gets underway with 18 holes at 8 a.m., Sunday. The teams will play 18 more holes on Monday before finishing the event on Tuesday.
