Women's Golf Hosts 21st Lady Eagle Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's continues its spring season this week when it hosts the 21st annual Lady Eagle Invitational. The tournament, which will be Mar. 9-10, will be played at the par-72, 6,111-yard Hattiesburg Country Club.
The Lady Eagles are the two-time defending tournament champion. Southern Miss has won the tournament a record five times.
Joining Southern Miss in the tournament are Alabama State, Central Arkansas, Houston Baptist, Jackson State, Louisiana-Monroe, Memphis, Murray State, Sam Houston State, South Alabama, Stephen F. Austin, UAB, Western Kentucky and William Carey.
Teeing off in the No. 1 position is sophomore Devon Spriddle. The Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada native leads the team with an average of 75.42 strokes per round. She has four consecutive top-20 finishes.
Freshman Belen Abrile will tee off in the No. 2 position. The Cordoba, Argentina, native is averaging 80.42 strokes per round
Junior Jennifer Nguyen and sophomore Emily Ross will be in the third and fourth positions, respectively. Nguyen is second on the team, averaging 79.75 strokes while Ross is averaging 81.09.
Junior MacKenzie Kelly will tee off in the No. 5 position. The Magee, Miss., native is averaging 84.38 strokes per round this year.
