Clemons Named to Preseason All-Conference USA Team

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Southern Miss senior guard Jerontay Clemons was one of three seniors selected to the eight-player Conference USA Preseason Team announced by the league office.
Clemons is the only starter returning for the Lady Eagles. The Coldwater, Miss., native was named second team all-conference and a member of the all-defensive team. She was second on the team in scoring and rebounding, averaging 12.4 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.
After finishing with a 25-11 record and runner-up for the second straight time, Southern Miss was picked to finish fourth behind Middle Tennessee, Old Dominion and WKU. The Blue Raiders were picked finish first for the third time in as many years. UTEP was picked to finish fifth.
Joining Clemons on the preseason team is MT Olivia Jones, who was tabbed the preseason Player of the Year, Jennie Simms (ODU), Lefty Webster (Charlotte), Leah Scott (Marshall), Cameasha Turner (UTEP), Kendall Noble (WKU) and Brandi Wingate (Louisiana Tech).
