HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss baseball team will hold its sixth annual fan day Sat., Feb., 7, beginning at 11 a.m., at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field, which will include an intra-squad scrimmage, a free kids clinic and an autograph session.
"We decided to do fan day a little bit different this season starting with our scrimmage first," said Southern Miss baseball coach Scott Berry. "We hope this gives our fans a better chance to see our team get ready for the 2015 season and then we transition into the clinic and autograph session. We look forward to seeing our fans enjoy a free family-friendly day of baseball."
The day starts with an 11 a.m., team scrimmage, followed by a free baseball clinic for kids ages 4 through eighth-graders, with instruction provided by Southern Miss players and coaches. Registration will begin at 2:30 p.m., with the camp starting at 3 p.m. Fans will then have the opportunity to meet the entire 2015 squad and coaching staff during an autograph session with the first chance to get this season's baseball schedule poster immediately following the clinic.
The Golden Eagles open the 2015 campaign, Friday, Feb. 13, against Murray State. Game time is set for 4 p.m., at Pete Taylor Park.
