Brescher to Represent Mississippi in the USGA State Team Championship

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss men's assistant golf coach Eddie Brescher will represent Mississippi in the USGA State Team Championship, Sept. 30-Oct. 2 at the French Lick Resort in French Lick, Ind.
Each state, along with Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico, is invited to send a team of three players to represent their state. The format is 54 holes of stroke play with the lowest scores from each team counting for that round. The team with the lowest aggregate score through 54 holes is the champion.
Brescher will be making his second appearance in the State Team Championship. He also participated in 2012, helping Mississippi to a 33rd-place finish.
Brescher will be joined on the Mississippi Team by Alan Ellis of Greenwood and Brandon Laird of Biloxi. He tees off at 1:10 p.m. CT.
