Lady Eagle Golfers in 18th-Place at Lady Paladin Invitational

Greenville, S.C. - The Southern Miss women's golf team is in 18th-place after one round of the season-opening Lady Paladin Invitational. The tournament is hosted by Furman and will be played at the par-72, 6,266-yard Furman University Golf Course.
The Lady Eagles shot a 37-over par 325.
Sophomore Devon Spriddle leads Southern Miss after shooting a four-over par 76 to tie for 43rd-place. Sophomore Emily Ross is tied for 57th-place after carding a six-over par 78.
Freshman Belen Abrile, playing in her first collegiate tournament, posted an 11-over par 83 to sit in an 87th-place tie. Senior Jennifer Nguyen and freshman Nicola Callander are tied for 94th-place after shooting a 16-over 88.
Furman leads the team competition at two-under par. Wake Forest is two shots back in second-place and Kansas is in third at one-over par.
Kansas' Pornvipa Sakee is four-under par to lead the individual tournament, one-shot in front of Wake Forest's Sierra Sims and Jennifer Peng of Yale.
