Men's Golf to Participate in Memphis Intercollegiate

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss continues its men's golf fall season when it travels to Cordova, Tenn. for the Memphis Intercollegiate, Monday and Tuesday, September 15-16, at the par-72, 7,334-yard Colonial Country Club.
The tournament begins Monday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The teams will play 36 holes on Monday, followed by the final 18 on Tuesday.
Southern Miss will be joined in the tournament by in-state foe Mississippi State, as well as Conference USA rivals Louisiana Tech, Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky. Also participating are Arkansas State, UALR, Belmont, Cincinnati, Lipscomb, Louisiana-Lafayette, host Memphis, and Toledo
The Golden Eagles are coming off last week's second-place finish at the season-opening Sam Hall Intercollegiate. Senior Casey Fernandez, who earned medalist honors at the Sam Hall, will tee off in the No. 1 position. He is averaging 66.33 strokes per round.
Redshirt sophomore Ryan Argotsinger is teeing off in the No. 2 position. He earned his first career top 20 finish at the Sam Hall, tying for 20th-place with an average of 71.33 strokes.
In the No. 3 position is senior Drew Kirby, who is averaging 71.67 strokes per round. Freshman Vasili Kartos is teeing off in the No. 4 position after averaging 71.67 strokes last week. In the No. 5 position is junior Hayes Weathersby, who averaged 72.67 strokes last week. Junior Tyler Peggs will participate as an individual.
