Lady Eagle Golfers in 15th-Place at Bearcat Classic

Maineville, Ohio - The Southern Miss women's golf team is in 15th-place after a rain-shortened first day of the Bearcat Classic, hosted by Cincinnati and played at the par-72, 6,186-yard TPC River's Bend.
Due to the rain, the tournament will be shortened to 36 holes.
The Lady Eagles shot a 40-over par 328. Host Cincinnati leads the team competition at 19-over par, one shot in front of second-place Morehead State.
Sophomore Devon Spriddle leads Southern Miss after shooting a four-over par 76 to tie for 12th-place. Senior Jennifer Nguyen is tied for 47th-place after carding a nine-over par 81.
Freshman Belen Abrile posted a 12-over par 84 to sit in a 69th-place tie. Sophomore Emily Ross is tied for 78th-place after a 15-over par 87 and freshman Nicola Callander is in 91st-place after shooting a 19-over 91.
Wofford's Lauren Dunbar is one-under par to lead the individual tournament, one-shot in front of Memphis' Michaela Fletcher and Anna Magnusson of Morehead State.
