Fernandez Earns Fifth-Place at David Toms Intercollegiate

Baton Rouge, La. - Senior Casey Fernandez tied for fifth-place at the David Toms Intercollegiate, played at the par-72, 7,663-yard University Club.
Fernandez shot a final round 73 to finish seven-over par, tied with North Texas' Juan Munoz. It was his second top-five finish.
LSU's Benjamin Taylor took home medalist honors, finishing two-under par, one shot ahead of Mercer's Emmanuel Kountakis.
The Golden Eagles finished 66-over par in 11th-place. Host LSU won the team championship at 27-over par, two shots in front of Southeastern Louisiana.
Senior Drew Kirby tied for 20th-place at 12-over par after shooting a 75. It is his second top-20 finish of the year and the fourth of his career.
Sophomore Ryan Argotsinger finished in 53rd-place at 24-over par after carding at 78.
Junior Hayes Weathersby posted a 76 to finish 25-over par in a 54th-place tie.
Freshman Vasili Kartos and junior Tyler Peggs tied for 56th-place at 26-over par. Peggs shot a 76 while Kartos posted a 79.
Southern Miss returns to the links Oct. 20-21, when it travels to Ruston, La., for the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate.
