Spriddle Takes Third-Place at Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational

Oct. 22, 2014 West Point, Miss. - Sophomore Devon Spriddle finished in third-place at the Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational, hosted by Mississippi State and played at the par-72, 6,229-yard Old Waverly Golf Club.
Spriddle shot a final round 76 to finish at even-par. She is just the fifth Lady Eagle to finish a 54-hole tournament at even-par or better, and her 54-hole score of 216 is the fifth-lowest in school history. This was also her first career top-five finish.
The Lady Eagles closed with a final round 320 to finish 63-over par in 12th-place.
Senior Jennifer Nguyen tied for 39th-place at 14-over par after shooting a 78. Her 54-hole score of 230 is a career-best.
Freshman Belen Abrile posted an 85 to finish 25-over par, tied for 63rd-place. Junior MacKenzie Kelly, playing in her first tournament of the year, tied for 68th-place at 26-over par after posting an 87.
Sophomore Emily Ross tied for 70th-place at 31-over par after carding an 80 and freshman Nicola Callander finished in 74th-place, posting an 89 to finish 50-over par.
Mississippi State won the team competition at four-under par, 22 shots ahead of USF. MSU's Ally McDonald earned medalist honors, finishing nine-under par.
Southern Miss returns to the links next week when it closes the fall season at the UAB Fall Beach Bash, Oct. 27-28.
