Daniel Wineski Signs with Golden Eagle Baseball for 2013

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss baseball coach Scott Berry announced Friday the signing of right-handed pitcher Daniel Wineski for the 2013 season.
"We are pleased to have Daniel join our program as he will be able to add a solid right-handed reliever for next season," said Berry. "We look for him to help provide quality depth for our bullpen in 2013."
Wineski, at 6-foot-1, 185 lbs., recently completed his sophomore season for coach Gary Rath at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, posted a 3-0 record with eight saves in 17 appearances. He threw 26 innings and fanned 22, while walking seven and posted a 1.73 earned run average.
For his efforts this season, he was named to the MACJC second team at pitcher.
The Ocean Springs, Miss., native played for coach Jesse Kanode at Ocean Springs High School in which he posted a 7-2 record as a senior with a 2.18 ERA. He fanned 45 over 57 2/3 innings of work for the Greyhounds as well that season.
Additionally, Wineski batted .321 for the year with seven doubles and 13 runs batted in.
Wineski joins Golden Eagle signees Sean Buchholz (RHP, Carpentersville, Ill/John A. Logan College), Conor Fisk (RHP, Brown Deer, Wis./Wabash Valley College), A.J. Glasshof (LHP, Sugar Land, Texas/San Jacinto CC), Tim Lynch (INF, Jupiter, Fla./Dwyer HS) and Jake Winston (RHP-INF, Vidalia, La./Trinity Episcopal) for the 2013 campaign.
