The Golden Eagles (1-2-1) jumped on the board early in the 10th minute as freshman Brooke Hendrix netted her first goal of the season on a rebound to put the Eagles up 1-0 early.
Louisiana rallied minutes later in the 13th when Kayla Henrie knotted it at 1-1.
The Ragin Cajuns got their second goal just before halftime from 20 yards out as Allyson Voisin took a feed from Henrie for her first goal of the season to make it a 2-1 game.
After a halftime discussion, the Golden Eagles came out and scored on their first shot in the 48th minute as freshman Mary Margaret Underwood fed a ball into space for junior Jordan Wagner. Wagner buried the ball in the back of the net off a breakaway to make it a 2-2 game.
"We came out after halftime with a real energy to get that equalizer," said coach Scott Ebke. "After (Jordan) Wagner got the goal, it seemed like we had a lot of the momentum going forward."
The half ran scoreless after the Wagner goal and the Golden Eagles entered their second overtime situation of the season. Against Louisiana Tech, the squad had two scoreless periods against the Bulldogs but was unable to keep Louisiana off the board as Henrie netted her second goal of the match off a rebound in the 95th minute.
"The consistency was ultimately lacking today," added Ebke. "We're looking to have more stability in these late game situations and we just did not have it at the end today."
The Golden Eagles will now begin preparations for a two-game weekend slate when they host Southeastern Louisiana on Friday at 4 p.m. and Mississippi State on Sunday at 1 p.m.
