Plucienski Earns Seventh-Place Finish at Louisiana Tech Bulldog Classic

Choudrant, La. - Redshirt junior Derek Plucienski finished in a tie for seventh-place at the Louisiana Tech Bulldog Classic, hosted by Louisiana Tech and played at the par-72, 7,105 Squire Creek Country Club.
Southern Miss also tied for seventh-place as a team after shooting a final round 299, eight shots back of third-place at 35-over par.
Plucienski shot a final round three-over par 75 to three-over for the tournament. It is his fourth top ten finish of the year and sixth top 20.
Freshman Zach Estep earned his best finish of his young career, tying for 21st-place. The Lawrenceville, Ga. native matched his career low round for the second time in the tournament, firing a 72 to finish eight-over par. It is his second round of par or better this year.
Freshmen Kevin Brady closed with a 77 to finish nine-over par in a tie for 26th-place. Redshirt junior Nick Brown finished in a tie for 44th-place at 15-over par after shooting a 75, and freshman Trent Hillis tied for 64rd after shooting an 82.
Middle Tennessee State won the team competition at four-over par, 18 shots ahead of host Louisiana Tech. Southeastern Louisiana took third-place at 27-over, and Missouri State finished one shot back in fourth-place.
MTSU's Brad Simons, Hunter Green and Jason Millard took the top three spots in the individual competition. Simons earned medalist honors at three-under par. Millard finished in second-place at even par, and Simons, along with Louisiana Tech's Sam Forgan and Alastair Jones of Texas State, finished in a tie for third at one-over par.
Southern Miss returns to the links in two weeks when they travel to Little Rock, Ark., for the UALR/First Tee Collegiate Classic, Mar. 28-29.
