Rodriguez Earns Fourth-Place Finish at Administaff Lady Jaguar Invitational

Augusta, Ga. - Freshman Brandi Rodriguez earned her first career top five finish, earning a fourth-place finish at the Administaff Lady Jaguar Invitational, hosted by Augusta State and played at the par-72, 5,963-yard Forest Hills Country Club.
The Lady Eagles took eighth-place to finish with a 54-hole score of 911. It is the fourth-lowest score in Southern Miss history.
The fourth-place finish was Rodriguez's career-best. She closed the tournament with a final round 74 to finish with a 54-hole score of two-over 218, tying the lowest 54-hole score in Southern Miss history. It was previously set by Mia Davidsson at the 2005 Lady Eagle Invitational.
Senior Virginia Espejo tied for 46th-place after finishing with an 84 to close at 16-over par. Senior Sandra Sohlberg closed with an 80 to finish in a tie for 53rd-place at 18-over par.
Sophomore Vicky Correa shot a two-over 74 to finish 19-over in a tie for 55th, and freshman Kelsey Gibson for 74th-place at 25-over par following a final round 80.
No. 8 Purdue shot a final round 275 to finish five-under par and win the team competition. Host Augusta State took second-place a t16-over par, and UT-San Antonio finished 24-over in third.
Casey Kennedy of Augusta State won the individual competition at 11-under par. Paula Reto of Purdue took second-place at six-under. Purdue's Numa Gulyanamitta finished one-over in third, followed by Rodriguez.
Southern Miss returns to the links next week when they host the Lady Eagle Invitational, Mar. 20-22.
