Cross Country Team Finishes 15th at the Crimson Classic

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss cross country team competed in the Crimson Classic cross country meet on Saturday and finished 15th overall out of 25 teams.The Golden Eagles placed a runner in the top 20 in Stephanie Ledgerwood who covered the 5K race in a time of 18:11.21 to finish 18th overall out of 202 runners.
Krista Moylan was the Eagles' next finisher, posting a time of 18:48.85 followed by Jocelyn Lockhart with a time of 19:26.72. Rounding out the USM team was Kara Moylan who ran a time of 20:08.39 and Brittany Ware with a time of 21:51.76.
Alabama won the team title with 88 points followed by Ole Miss in second-place, Tennessee third, Georgia was fourth and Western Kentucky was fifth. UT's Brittany Sheffey was the overall winner with a time of 17:11.71.
Southern Miss travels to the Conference USA Championship in Houston, Texas, Oct. 31.
