Scouting UCF
UCF enters the contest with an 8-6 record overall and 1-0 in league play after an 81-68 win over Rice. D'Nay Daniels and Aisha Patrick scored 21 points each and Chelsie Wiley added 16.
Coach Joi Williams is in her fourth season with the Knights and returns nine letterwinners including all five starters from last year's team that finished 11-16. Wiley paces four Knights in double figure scoring with 14.9 points followed by Daniels with 14.1, Patrick with 10.9 and Jelisa Caldwell with 10.7 points per game. Patrick also leads the team in rebound with 8.0 rebounds per game.
As a team the Knights are averaging 70.7 points and 41.7 rebounds while shooting 39.8 percent from the field and 69.0 percent from the line.
The Series
This is the 18th meeting between the two teams dating back to the 1980-81 season. The two teams faced each other for the first time on Dec. 19, 1980, in Orlando. The two teams have played each other 12 times since becoming members of Conference USA with USM winning eight of the 12 meetings. UCF swept the series last season.
